John Collins:

Hi Everyone,

I have just got back from the Birmingham concert, and I can tell you it was
one hell of a concert. As Chris described it "This is not a concert this is a
party!"

Where do I start? I have not got a clue.

I was not sure how Chris would get on by himself, but there was no worries,
he was in cracking form! The acoustics at the Symphony Hall are far superior
in comparison to the NEC. The sound was as perfect as you can get it.

Birmingham was really up for this one, clapping and singing along, the end
of each song being met with a thunderous applause, and when Chris said "come on
everybody lets wobble your bits" the audience went mad!!

Very pleased to hear LAST NIGHT at last. I am surprised Chris knew the words
:-)

I was also pleased to hear LONELY SKY, still holds up as one of Chris's best
songs. There was some real classics in there tonight, SAME SUN, WHERE
PEACEFUL WATERS, and SNOWS OF NEW YORK. How could Chris not sing this with me
there?!

It was great to see the new album tracks being well received, in particular
READ MY NAME which I could, thanks.

There was an encore!! The surprise here was that there was no Chris de Burgh
songs in sight.

The last time I went to the Convention part of the City, was early this year
to see Birmingham comedian Jasper Carrot, I say this as Chris was very funny
tonight. If he fancies a career change, he could always be a comedian.

Well, as you know from my last post, it was 25 years ago when I first saw
Chris in concert. I have to say I had a great time. I don't know how Chris is
feeling, but I am shattered!!!

I hope the rest of the tour concerts are as good as this one. If they are,
you are in for a real treat.

Have a great time.

Andrew Claridge:

Hi Chris - and everyone

I too was at Birmingham 2nd night with my Mum - her 50th birthday present!

(I looked out for you Chris but didn't spot you - but you wouldn't know me
anyway, just I've seen your picture on your website!)

My mum loved it - but I really wished the band were there....

The funniest bit of the night was when Chris forgot to change his sounds on
the piano for Lady in Red and started off - then he realised what he'd done!
"What's going on? That was awful.....I'd better get the right sound for
this!" Speaking from personal experience....I've done that a few times
with my band!!!

I enjoyed the solo versions of "The Words I Love You" and "Five Past Dreams"

On the whole we had a very enjoyable night - even though we left the hall at
10.15 and it took us an hour just to get out of the car park!!

Cheers
Andy
