Nicole Buhr and Anke Laubensdörfer:

Hi friends,

Tired but still high on emotion from last nights concert we decided
to share our fun with you ;-)

Anke has to look after her little boy so I have to do the writing...
When we arrived in Nurnberg we soon met some list friends but could
not join them into the venue yet as we had to wait for Kai and her
son Jason who came all the way from the USA to the concert and we
still had their tickets. Fortunately they arrived just in time some
minutes before the concert started.

Chris was in good mood and talked a lot. And he got a "real" rose
from Chris W. this time *g* Chris had to laugh when he read the
little card Chris W. had attached to the rose. During St. Peter's
Gate we all stood up to dance and soon many people came down the
aisle to join in the fun. But it was a bit early to do so and they
all had to sit down on the floor or stand on the side for the next
few songs. During the Britney Spears part Chris got many cheers and
kisses and hugs and he seemed to really enjoy it :-)

Then at last the dancing part began after LIR and many people joined
us at the front of the stage. What a great atmosphere!!!!!! Of course
Read my name was the highlight again (after the concert a couple
asked Anke and me where we got the T-shirts from - we were wearing
the Read my name ones - and we said that they were self made and
explained that the names they could see during the song were names of
fans and they were really impressed!). Soon the concert finished with
SONY - but NO! - this man is absolutely incredible and kept on
singing some of his favourite songs like he already did in Hamburg
and Bad Bruckenau. Fantastic!!!!! The concert ended at 22:50h. Well
done Chris!

After the concert we met Kai and her son again and we decided to have
a drink together with Chris W., Andrea and Dany at their hotel bar.
But due to a public holdiday in Bavaria the bar was closed :-( and
we had to get some drinks and pretzels at a petrol station nearby. As
Kai and Jason were soooo tired we drove them back to their hotel and
then went back to join the others again in their hotel room where we
chatted and had fun until late into the night. We arrived at Anke's
house at around 2am absolutely tired but happy :-))
Now we still enjoy being together and talking about the concert and
we are already looking forward to the next one in Bamberg :-)) See
you there!

Cheers Nugie and Anke

Monika Maid:

Like "Lord thunder and lightning, rain falling down" was the real
situation of weather when Chris de Burgh came to play his songs in
the Meistersingerhalle in Nürnberg in June 2004. The way to see him
has not been so far for me, only 100 kms to drive away from this
little town where I'm living in since a few years, where never
somethings happens what could be better than to see Chris de Burgh
in concert.

It must have been a long way for him to come to us and to sing here
in Germany. One hour before he began his concert with a wonderful
piano part "When winter comes" a fruity bowl had been offered to us
near the entrance to the concerthall. The whole room listened and
looked to the stage in silence and suddenly Chris appeared in a way
that I have never thought that he could be. He told us from his wish
that Bush should stop the war and at once he got the whole sympathy
of the audience. He told us about his family and his son leaving
with his heart and his wish to bring him back to him. He tried to
remind us to D-day, what I've seen on television some days before
here in Germany. Getting red roses he was inspired to tell us the
story of a Queen who couldn't be married and we heard "Rose of
England". I missed nothing of him. Some wonderful songs like
"Lady in red" and a surprise, when someone called the wish to hear
the song "Perfect day", "High on Emotion" and all the titels from
his new album "Road to freedom" could make me feel that all the
years I've not heard anything new from him are over now. Chris was
now, just in the nick of time, comming near to my eyes and ears this
year. And forever I won't miss him in my life with all his own songs
full of emotions that I've heard.

After these own creations of songtextes and wonderful melodies he
showed us another Chris, just when he began to play songs from the
Beatles and some songs he likes very much from others. His concert
was going on to be a party for him, when we all want him to come
back to the stage. Now Chris showed us that he is really a ever
staying young musicer, who can share with us all great moments of
music in our generation and that he has a big background in music.

With a wonderful feeling to have seen the man on the covers in
reality after 15 years live here in the near of my hometown, singing
"Lady in red" lonesome in my car and late in the night I came back
home knowing that I want to hear his wonderful voice and his songs
again and again. And I hope that will happen the next time.

Yours sincerely
Monika Maid
