Claudia Gerike:

Hi folks,

Would love to tell you a bit of our lovely week-end in Beverungen. We
started saturday morning round 11 a.m. On the train from Nordheim to
Beverungen Willi heard someone talking of Chris de Burgh and so we
decided to come a bit closer to hear what it was about. It was the
young man Ina already talked about from Israel who came just for to
visit the show. He is not on the list, but got in contact with so many
of us, so may be he will join - who knows. We had a nice talk on the
train and after we parted we went to out hotel. When walking round the
town a bit we met our friend again (Beverungen is not really big...)
After finding out where the venue would be and having an ice cream we
went back to the hotel and later met with Ilka, Andrea, Chris and
Steward. It was nice to see them all again :-)))))) They went to the
venue bit before us, and when we walked in we nearly ran into Jutta,
Ela, Heike S., Ina and .... :-)))) They told us they got the info
that Chris just finished in Berlin. So... we knew he would be late.
When the guy on the microphone told us later, Chris would fly to
Kassel Calden, my first reaction was "oh, he is wrong in this plans,
the concert in Calden is next week" :-) We did chat for a while with
the others and I then saw that I got an SMS from Lore, wishing us a
great time. Thank you Lore, it was so lovely you thought of us :-))))
We saw our friend from Israel again (sorry, so bad in remembering
names...) and he introduced us to Silvie from Strassburg, she is on
the list as well, and even she as also been to Dortmund I did not
remember her, but it was really nice to meet you, Silvie, now !! I
looked out for Heike L. but unfortunatly I could not see you, where
have you been?? Or did you say anything to us and I just did not
realize??? Well, finally the concert started at about 8.50 p.m. and
it was GREAT!!!!!! Please do not ask me about set lists, I am always
not good in remembering things like that, but as far as I saw from
the Bremen set list, he did not play so much different songs. My
personal highlights have benn Transmission ends, Shine on, and up
here in heaven. Willi said, he was very happy that Chris did only
play his own songs. Sure, the beatles are very nice, but Chris did
so many great songs, so he was glad Chris only played them. Even
the sky looked a bit gray, the weather stayed with us. I was very
happy with our seats in the C block row 6. Even I thought the block
would be in the middle of the stage (it was on the right side, there
was no middle block) from that row you had a great view on the stage.
The acustic from that seats also has been wonderful. For Willi this
is much more importent then sitting may be in row 1 with a not so
well acustic, this can happen sometimes. Of cause we have been among
the people dancing in the front during the last part of the show
:-)))) As it was already told, Chris made some jokes, one thing was
about that the place seamed to be a farming area. We really set in
the fields, what a lovely atmosphere :-))) Well, 2 hours and about
10 or 15 minutes, and then it was all over :-(((( To short, but Chris
was in such a great mood and his voice was so brilliant, the people
have been so wonderful and I guess many of them have been very
surprised when he came down from the stage, running round (Britney
part.) As we set in the middle of the row, I could not see him at all
that time, but I did before, so I was happy for the others who got
that chance. After the show we and the others from the list stood by
the stage for a while until a nice woman told us to leave because
they wanted to put down the stage. After some drinks with the others
we finally went back to our hotel, tired but very happy for we had a
wonderful evening.
