Ina Stöcker:

Hi again :-)!

The show in Bonn was very special for me because I had my son René with
me. Some of you will remember that he accompanied me to the 2. concert
in Cologne last year and that he was very touched and happy - I will
never forget this day, never forget the emotions and joy in his face! So
I promised him to take him with me this year to one concert again. Bonn
is not far away from our home and so we booked tickets for my husband,
me and René and I invited a pen-friend of mine again for the show. So it
would be possible that my husband could drive René home if there would
be problems. I was a little bit anxious if René would manage the whole
time (he is autism) because this concert was unseated and I know that we
had to stay outside very early to get the chance to stay in the front
with him where he could have a good view. I thought a lot about how to
get an result for this problem and so I asked if we could get inside the
venue earlier than the others and described why it would be important
for René. All went well - a big thank you to these kind people! - and we
could see the soundcheck inside. René was so proud about! The soundcheck
was filmed (by Discovery Channel?- Has anyone informations about this?)
and Chris also did a little Britney-part during the soundcheck. He came
to René and showed the camera-team to film René and René smiled after it
like the sun :-).
After the soundcheck René had time enough to run around and play and
loose some of his energy ;-). About 6 p.m. they opened the door and
there was a heavy run to the front of the stage. There were many known
people and friends beside and behind us and they all told us to care for
that René has enough room around himself. René was a little bit
anxious - all the voices around him and all the people, but he looked so
forward to the concert!
As Chris came on stage he told all children to come in front of the
fence (in front of the stage) and that they should stay there for the
concert. So René was happy that he could sit down there and I was very
happy about it, too. Sometimes René was very restless - he enjoyed the
show but needed something to put his concentration on something other to
relax himself - he played with his lightstick, sometimes he took our big
dog Rufus and was "far away", did not react to anything around him,
sometimes he clapped hands and laughed. Sometimes I had to talk to him
what not to do or that he must get more quiet, but there was no "big
problem". Later he started dancing and clapping hands - he always had a
look at us "what to do now" and he smiled and smiled and smiled - it was
so great and so emotional! I was so thankfull that he could see the
concert and that all went so well for him! When Chris played "Snows of
New York" I could not hold back my tears - I can´t describe my feelings
to see René enjoying all this and I can´t describe what I could see in
his eyes. His "view" so often seems to look inside or far away, so often
he talks to me and answers me and in the same time he does not react in
the right way to what I say because his mind is filled with his special
interests. But this wonderful evening I could see again that there was a
totally "awake" and concentrated René!
After the show René was bumping up and down ;-) - he talked and talked
and talked and he said "Mum - do you remember what I said to you after
the concert in Cologne last year? I said that it was the best day of my
whole life. This day mum - is the second best day of my life!" My
husband than drove home together with René and I stayed in Bonn for some
hours with my friends, we had a fantastic evening with much of fun and
it was the end of a perfect day!

Having children is a great thing - but making children happy is the best
thing in life!

Greetings from
Ina
