Doris Neerfries:

During the last weeks (since 12.7. Bochum) my household is a mess and
my children (11 + 13) hardly know their mother anymore. Besides their
father also is away since nearly 5 weeks now (working abroad in
Malaysia, will return on Saturday), so they had to stay with their
grandparents for those concert-days. And also while I was at home I
didn't manage anything real in the house. Only the most important
things, which had to be done. At the end I even forgot to wet the
flowers in the garden (because I had to leave for Bonn so early at
noon). At work I mostly told my colleague about the concerts and
everything, but hardly could concentrate on my work. Every now and
then there came something in my mind, which I had to tell her! I hope
I didn't make too much mistakes during this time.....! For me it was a
bit like holidays, but from today on my normal life unfortunately has
me back :-( And that's ok. My son got ill today (the flue?) besides
to his broken toe. So it's good, that I can stay at home with him.

So yesterday I had the pleasure to drive 78 km to Nordkrichen. I'd
been looking forward to that concert since Christmas, when I'd bought
the ticket. I hadn't found anybody to accompany me, so I drove alone -
I knew I'd meet listmembers over there. I must admit that I like to
drive alone in my car. Then I can turn on the music (CdeB) and sing as
loud as I like ..... . That's a good beginning before a concert. And
the way back the same.

I arrived around 17.30 p. m., and just when I had left my car and had
taken a few photos of the Castle the rain began. It was terrible! (All
the styling in vain :-)) A went on walking and sometimes waited under
a tree, where I didn't get so wet. Then I went to a gate to the
Castle, but it wasn't opened to get in at 18.00 p. m., as expected.
There were some problems inside, so we had to wait. It anyway didn't
matter, where we got wet, inside or outside the garden of the
Castle... . I think at 18.30 p. m. we could get in and searched for
our seats. I found out, that my seat was rather far at the left side,
so that I hardly could see Chris, when he was sitting at his piano. I
only could see him through a support of the stage. And then all the
rain. At that moment I would have prefered to drive back home
immediately! Short before 19.30 p. m. I dried my seat and sat down.
Meanwhile the rain had stopped and the sky even became blue. When the
concert started there were only a few small clouds left. But Chris
didn't start in time because of technical problems depending on the
rainy weather. I think it was 19.45 or 19.50 p. m. when suddenly a
bell rang. The bell of the Castle. It was a nice beginning for the
concert.

When Chris started talking I thought, that he was in a very good mood
today. When he explained, that he would also play songs from the "Live
in Dortmund"-CD, which he had recorded there in Nov., some fans (I
think Konni, am I right?) shouted loud and Chris said: "Yes, you also
were there". He told us, that he nearly felt like being at home,
playing here at the Castle Nordkirchen.

I think it must have been nice to sing in this venue. Chris' sight
from the stage must have been excellent. In the front the audience,
then the rest of the garden, behind the garden big trees and then the
far blue sky! And later on the moon was shining there. I know, the
Bonn-concert had been a very big party and was really great, but the
surroundings in Nordkirchen were more my taste. In Bonn I only saw
beton-walls, and that's not what I like so very much. But during the
concert in Bonn I forgot the walls ;-)

At the end we could enjoy the Party-songs, and unfortunately
after "Hey Jude" everything was over. But the fans went on singing and
didn't want to go away. They really were in a party-mood. It had been
a nice last concert for me, I was glad that I had been there, in spite
of the cold and rainy weather. Sang the whole way back in my car and
arrived safely at 0.10 a. m.

Have a nice last concert-week you all, who'll go there.

Greetings from Dinslaken,
Doris
