Berlin, Germany - November 28, 2006

Chris Williams:

Hi all,
Well after a nice breakfast, we set out for the 3.5hr drive from Hamburg to
Berlin. We hit no traffic jams or problems, until we got into the main area of
Berlin, where my trusted 'sat nav' told us to drive straight forward, but we
couldn't as the road was closed for road works. Of course being as there were
2 women in the front of the vehicle we soon worked out the way without the sat
nav!!!!! and arrived at our hotel safely.

After a short rest and a quick shower we met one of Konnis friends and then went
with her to visit a Christmas market which was right by our hotel. While we were
there we of course had to buy a little gift to take home with us, and then we all
had a snack and a nice hot 'gluewein' before hurrying back to the hotel to finish
getting ready to leave for the concert.

We had to travel to the venue by underground train, and then walk from the train
station to the actual venue.

When we got there, there was only one entrance open, and a very long queue. Finally
we managed to get into the venue with about 15 minutes to spare. We took our seats
and then said a quick hello to a few list friends including Morten and his wife.

The venue looked fairly full from where we were sitting. It was a sports hall, and
the stage unfortunately was rather high, approx:1.5meters. The show started pretty
much on time and there were people still taking there seats due to the long queues
at the entrance.
Chris was dressed in white shirt and the usual trousers, and was in good voice
again. Its interesting to see Chris getting more and more confident as he sings
'Mirror Of The Soul' from 'the alter high' !! Other things that we remember now,
apart from the wonderful songs was when Al accidentally pulled out his guitar
lead and there was a few seconds of silence from his guitar!!! Thankfully he
soon plugged it in again.
It was very irritating at times that the people in the row behind us were talking
a lot throughout some of the songs, and 2 other people in the same row were
laughing all the way through 'Raging Storm' which we though was awful. If people
want to talk why don't they do it at home ?
The solo section was slightly different , as he sang 'In A Country Churchyard'
whereas in previous nights he has sung 'Carry Me'. One thing we have never
mentioned is when he sings LIR in the acoustic section where they all sit
together in the middle of the stage, Chris always walks off stage and into the
audience while singing and this always goes down really well. Its lovely for
the audience sitting further back as they get to see him up close........well
maybe not in Berlin, as 1 woman grabbed him and would not let him go!!!!!!!!!!
When Chris sings 'Ferryman' he always runs to the front of the stage and jumps
into the air as if to launch himsef off the stage, but of course he stops just
in time....but it always gives the fans infront of where he is jumping a 'bit
of a shock'!!!!

We just remembered that somewhere in the concert Chris talked about that he
had logged onto cdeb.com and read all the nice comments in the guestbook, and
he was pleased that they were all so positive, then went onto say that he
wondered if the journalists who wrote such bad reviews of the concerts, had
actually been at the same concerts as all the fans!!! Then he went onto define
a 'critic' as someone who writes about something they don't like.......or words
to that effect.
Only to soon it was the last few songs and this evening not only did Krystina
Myles sing and dance with 'Say Goodbye To It All' and HOE, but she was also
playing a tamborine!!! She appears to be gaining in confidence as the tour
progresses. That's about all for now, Take care all,
Chris(W)thebluehealer and Konni, the driver and hotel provider for the next 2
nights!!
