Monika Maid: Hello readers, my journey to Chris went on to Augsburg this year. It is near to Ingolstadt and I found the way easy. Arriving Augsburg there was the first surprise. For I did not know how to follow the streets to the place where the concert will be I asked someone and she did not know that there will be a concert of Chris this night, because on that place had been a lot of Jesus Christ posters. I told her I am on my way and would like to know where I can park there. There are no parking-places she told me and I should drive straight on until I find a building full of glas on the left side. For I did not find such a building, I drove left before this glas-building and found a nice parking-place, only one free place near a greek taverne with nice barkeepers there, who saw these flowers. So after a while they asked wether these flowers are for Chris de Burgh. Well, they had been for him. When it is summer in Germany and you see women walking with flowers through the streets, you can be sure they are for Chris de Burgh or for Krystina and him!:)) I arrived an got something nice to eat there in front of the open air-place. We talked a little bit before the concert. One women had got a birthday present from her husband for this concert and she had forgotten that it was this day, so she came directely from her work to the concert there. Oh, that reminds me, that my collegues had let me free an hour before Chris arrived in Ingolstadt some time ago. All around me was strange on my way and I went downstairs to see the walls around this building on the romantic street there. Going upstairs I saw a few people queuing up for something to drink and they mentioned that it was not nice, that they all had to pay 0,50 Euro for a cup and to bring it back queuing up once again. Well I could not wait to go inside now and left the cup in something like a street-paper-basket. Inside it looked like a amphy-theatre and the place was full of audience there, what was very good, because Chris mentioned later, that he likes Bavaria and that he has heard that the audience in Augsburg can sing very well and can talk in English very well, what I could find out later too, while listening and singing with them all. After he had sang the first same songs and got the flowers he mentioned that he had been here three years ago. He asked wether Augsburg is in Bavaria and after he got "Yes" as answer he told, that he likes Bavaria, what really made me happy, living there and it is always a great joy in my heart, when he is here. We had got places on the left side of the stage and the security there was so nice to let us turn the chairs a little bit round, so that we could see Chris and the band better. Many thanks for this. For he played the same songs like in the concerts before I won*t mention them all again. You know them. During the first part of his concert my mood became more and more romantic. He sang so lovely and was so good to look at on his stage together with Nigel, who did a violine-part in "Borderline", that I saw he loods directely to me far, far away. For sure he did a walk through the audience to "Lady in Red" , not forgetting to say that he hates this microphone around his head, because it is very dangerous for the hairs and I thought he could sing without a microphone too, when he is walking, when he hates this thing so much.He danced with a beautiful young lady dressed in red. Than he went up the stairs and a young girl was comming along and gave him a kiss. It must have been the sweetest kiss of all! During that song I heard him the first time laughing while he sang. A lot of heads around me were going up to look where he is at the moment. His audience there got a lovesong from him personally "The sweetest kiss of all", but he mentioned that he unfortunately will die in this story, for he is Romeo. To our luck he had not to die and instead of it short afterwards he invited Krystina to the stage to sing with him "Raging Storm" very well and both got flowers for it. The part with the band was very good. Really they can play wonderful together. It was a great show. At the end he invited his audience to dance. He would play the songs and they all can dance than. It had been the same rocking songs as in the concerts before and there was a lot of singing with him and dancing! We all had so much fun there together with Chris and his band. From time to time he let the audience sing alone without him and it was really good to understand and in the right tune, like he'd said it before. For sure we all could not find an end so that he came back to play "High on Emotion" and "The Snows of New York" and it was so nice to see just this look in his eyes, this smile enjoying to sing this song dancing with his audience. That was the young Chris from twenty years before, whom I had never seen in this time. So many thanks for Augsburg to let me go there with you. The people there had really been nice to me while talking together. Many thanks for this wonderful Bavarian night. Greetings Monika
