Chris Raymond: The following report is done by Chris Raymond, but as she left for another holiday after dictation, we put it online on her behalf...well, with a few editor's notes by me and Alison *smile* We arrived in Chiemsee the evening prior to the concert. Having time to look around the lake & take the boat to see the islands “Herrenchiemsee” and “Fraueninsel” during the day of the concert itself and it was great. It was mainly sunny and we prayed hard that it would stay fine! Arriving at the venue we touched base with some german fans. Checking out the “arena” we were disconcerted to see that there was a gangplank over the water from the stage to a smaller lower platform in front of the seating. There were many “biting insects” hovering and we heard that these were in source of concern. The storyman theme set the scene and at 20.10 Chris appeared from the side of the stage commencing with a snippet of the storyman and singing “In a country churchyard”. (Editor’s note: Chris was wearing still the same outfit as last night, probably unwashed yet *smile*) He welcomed us in German and English + pointed at his “halo” indicating that we had good weather because of this!!! It was unusual to find that “Borderline” came near the beginning of the set. Nigel and later Al joined Chris during this song. However familiar the song is it still gives me the goosebumps. CdeB’s voice is so powerful and his “soul” is in it. Several fans took gifts to the stage and Chris skilfully walked the plank to reach the audience. One even brought him a little jewellery, a footchain…we wonder if he wears it tomorrow *lol*… The LIR was a great treat when Chris went on a walkabout around the audience, stopping several times even dancing around and sitting with fans. “Leningrad” and “Grace of a dancer” completed the “solo” part though Nigel and Tony accompanied these. Al & Dave appeared and the concert “notched” up as those incredible drum beats opened “Where we will be going”. Soon Krystina was introduced to sing the duet Raging storm. She looked stunning in a black outfit tonight though with bare arms & a short skirt she must have frozen for it was cold by now! The “Leader” was awesome with Steve Bennett’s video footage dominating the backdrop. Chris was clearly moved as he sang this very powerful trilogy. A few of us needed no invitation but now Chris did indeed invite us to dance! It was a bit rocky on the platform in front of the stage for sure! Now we could see that the insects were a big problem. Dave was swarmed by them (editor’s note: They were all female ones we presumed!!) they all gathered at his feet, the ground was kinda white from all of them!!! Nigel even was brushing them off the keyboards with a huge brush! Chris went to get topped up with deterent spray! The members now came thick and fast and Krystina was back to backvocals & played the tambourine. Chris & the boys “jammed” together causing much laughter and the cameras panned onto the audience for HOE. At 22.20 Chris mouthed “OMG” and checked the time on Alison’s watch. He would tease on he liked but we knew he’d do one more. So Snows of NY commenced and everyone was up to sway…as the boys played on Chris shook hands with the fans and then was gone as the tune morphed to the Storyman theme it was the “end of the perfect day” (editor’s note: He sadly did not do this one *sigh*)
