Chris Williams:
Hi all,
well here is my review from last night at Hameln....yes I'm back in
Germany again ;-) !!!!!!!!!!! Like I said before...thank goodness for
the cheap airlines like Easyjet etc !!!
So we arrived in Dortmund at about 14:15 hrs and picked up our rental
car...guess what colour it was.......'black'.......now many of you by
now know that I HATE black !!!!!!! still I can't really see the
outside when I am driving ;-) and it doesn't have 'air con' in
either......thats what you get when you hire a smaller car:-((( And
of course the weather has changed now and it was hot on the drive,
but i'm not complaining..its better than rain !!
So at 16:30 wearrived in Hameln and found our hotel which is right by
the river. We checked in and then went down and had a lovely meal and
drink in the beer garden overlooking the river. Soon it was time to
get ready for the show and meet our friends. We walked to the venue
together and once there I met other friends and one special
one, 'Konni' who I have not seen since November. It was great to meet
up with her again :-)), but of course too short , as the show was
nearly due to start. The venue area was in a big park which looked
very nice from what we could see, but due to our time constraints, we
couldnot see very much of Hameln at all:-(((
The opening of the concert was the 'Storyman'themeand then Chris
appeared from the side of the stage andhe was wearing a white shirt
with a white t-shirt underneath and black trousers and black jacket
of course!! The stage was fairly high, although not as high as
Mainz, I don't think. Also the first row of seats was along way back
>from the stage, and this I hate because it seems harder for
the 'energy' to bounce between Chris and the audience and vica versa.
His voice seemed perfect from the start, and the usual songs followed
in the solo section, so I won't go into all of them, and even if I
wanted, I can't remember them all :-(((( its the old memory, its not
as good as it used to be ;-)) After a few songs he took his leather
jacket off in the usual style and then he said hello to all the
people otside the venue, that were watching the show for
nothing....but this time he told them that there was free beer and
later there would be naked dancers !!!!!!!! (ummm I never did see
those dancers ;-)))))
The walk about bit was the same as usual and went down very well of
course. the audience really do love this interaction with them.
Once the solo part was finished, it was time for band part and in
this we got a big surprise, as right in the middle of this part Chris
sang a very upbeat version of 'Missing You' :-))))) Now I have not
heard a band version of this song for maybe 5 years !!
For 'Raging Storm' Kristyna Myles was wearing a very short black
dress!! i just really love this song, so I'm really pleased that she
is on the tour. I also noticed that she was on stage singing some
backing vocals to Spirit.I have never noticed this before, has anyone
else ?
When the fast dancing bit came, there was a stampede to the front and
I was nearly knocked over, but thankfully someone caught me as I was
falling. I was a bit shocked as I never expected such a mad rush and
to be practiaclly knocked over at a CdeB concert !!
Of course as usual the end of the concert came far to soon, and after
the last song we said our goodbyes to some of our friends and then
walked back to our hotel where we had a quick drink before retiring
to bed at about 01:30 hrs !!
Wel thats about all for now!!
take care all Chris(W)thebluehealer and 'roaming CdeB reporter.
