Concert Review: Bielefeld, Germany - November 6, 1999

Marietta Hülsken:

I just flew in from Bielefeld. In the first way I have to say that bielefeld is a smal town with circa 150.000 inhabitants in an rural neighbourhood. The avarage of the people was older. the "Siedenstickerhalle" was half filled. A very big negative point just to the beginning: the "security People": they controlled all bags and a lot of things are vorbidden: ie to take fotos, to make lifetapes, to sit on the stairs, to burn "electric sparklers". :((

Chris started with the same program as in Hamburg. But my opinion is he had a hard work to do to wurm up the audience. Than he did a long intro to "Saint Pter's Gate" and also to "A Wonamn's Heart"; two greast songs and now the audience was awake and clapping their hands and singing along.

With "Patricia" he did his usual jokes about the song: "Patrica, who?"...

In the intro to "My Lover is" he picked up the story with the sheep ("My Lover is a Sheep") but no-one laughed cos' they did'nt know the connection to Oberhausen. :(

At the ende of the concert many people left the hall before the encores. All in all it has been (for my husband, my friend and me) a very nice evening. We all were "High on Emotion".

Chris himself was in a very good condition. I wonder from where he takes the strengthand the condition todo 6 concerts in 7 days (and gooingso on) ... I do not mind him doing pysically powertraining or something ie joggng; o. k. he plays golf but that did'nt give him such a condition. The young blonde guitarplayer catched my attention, Peter Oxendale was brilliant but the rest of his band was not a pleasure to me, the bad one of them has been the drummer.

But I am lucky having visited the concert at the first and now I am elevated to see the concert in Dortmund and I am counting the days to cologne.
