Concert Review: Belfast, Northern Ireland - November 19&20, 2000

Patricia Wenstrom:

The Belfast concerts were wonderful! I live in the USA, have been a fan of Chris' since 1982 when I heard "Don't Pay the Ferryman", but of course he never performs here, so I traveled from upstate New York to Belfast - had tickets for both nights. Both nights he started out with a subdued crowd that he had up and dancing in their seats by the end. There was an age range there from 18 to 70, many of them dancing in front of the stage - it was awesome.

And a special treat was spending 5 days in Belfast. What a wonderful city full of incredible people. Got to attend their Christmas tree lighting ceremony crammed in city center in front of City Hall with a whole lot of excited children and adults.

We here in the US can't even imagine what it is like to face terror and pain like so many in Europe. It was a real lesson for me in the resilience of the human spirit, and I will be forever grateful for the experience.

Thanks Belfast!!! (And of course Chris.)
