Concert Review: Hasbergen, Germany - August 25, 2000
Lore Müller:
After I became a listmember, it was my first concert with listmembers and indeed the first time that I met some listmembers "in real life". I enjoyed it very much. Instead of Gabi, who got ill, my husband accompanied me. As I told you before, I wore a LORE T-shirt. So, when Astrid and Tina told me, where the other listmembers were, I went there, said "hello" to all people, who looked like CdeB-Fans and pointed to my LORE. I asked: "Do you know me?" But most of them didn`t - they looked at me as if I came from a far away foreign planet. That`s fun!!
I think the concert was a good one, although it was shorter than usual. Chris played more the rocky songs and left out more of the soft ones. Surely the audience, that comes to hear several artists is different from that at real CdeB-concerts. So it`s o.k. for me the way Chris does. As I knew from Astrid, Chris had sung some french lines the day before, beginning A woman`s heart. So we shouted "Le coeur d`une femme" after his "women`s toilette story". But he did it completely in English. Finally I`d like to remark that the sound was excellent (most time it`s too loud for my ears in the end), it couldn=B4t have been better. And I liked the illumination on the stage. My compliment to those who were responsible for this!
Bianka Graeming:
Last Saturday I went to Soest, a town I have been living in for 3 years during my job training. During those times I always dreamed of Chris coming to the city. But nothing happened. Now that I am back home again for more than two years, CDeB has been the reason to return there again for one weekend. If you want a comment about the groups and artists appearing on stage before Chris came, Ezio were quite good I think. The band from Soest also did their best. I was just about to say: "As it gets later and later the music is becoming better and better!" (Of course, I didn't see mambo Kurt as such a big star. He could have appeared on a party or so. Sorry, but I really didn't enjoy him much. ) but than Marla Glen came and I was really disapointed. The atmosphere got better and better during this event the later it became. But Marla Glen was really a disapointment for me: the voice, the songs ... I was happy when it was over.
Then Chris appeared and the many hours were forgotten. The atmosphere was great, a singing crowd and a greatperformance by the star. He sang the song "about something you have been looking at all day long, the sun" and lots more. In the solo part he did "carry me" and "patricia the stripper". Great songs, but he has done them so often.
The 2 1/2 hour-long show was really phantastic, although I sometimes had the feeling that Chris was under time pressure. It's hard to discribe this in words. I tried to explain it that way: "The people sang on and on and he simply started with the next song." I felt reminded of Dublin 1994 (October 15th), when I had almost the same feeling. Everybody was singing "happy birthday" and there came no reaction. Maybe you could see a reaction in his eyes. If so, hope you enjoyed it. These are moments when I am quite unhappy about being blinde. But I tell you, it is an impression I had during both of the showes and hard to discribe. You simply stand there and the thaught comes to your mind.I don't regret a single moment of the time in Soest.
