Concert Review: Petange, Luxembourg - November 10, 2001

Claudia Schreiber:

OK, as regarded by Simon, I try to give an impression of what happened yesterday...but be aware, you may get jealous!

I picked up Britta, a girl from the list, at about 13 o'clock. We met for the first time, and I think, both of us had a second thinking "Will we fit together ??"...but, as Britta may agree, after less than an hour we knew we would get friends.

We arrived to the venue at about 16 o'clock, meeting another listmember and went into the hall (a sports hall, by the way, with basket ball goals hanging around, and a smell somwhere between swimming pool and old socks...).

The kind local manager of the concert allowed us to go inside, and we spreaded out about 1500 flyers for the fan gathering next year, each on every chair (poohh !!!)

Meanwhile Heike, Tina, Marietta and the others had arrived, and were allowed to come in as well to help us. Of course we were not in a hurry, as Chris was about to do his soundcheck :)

Then a TV team from the local RTL station entered the room, waiting to interview Chris of course. They talked to me, about being a CdeB fan and the gathering, and asked me, if I was willing to repeat the answers in front of rolling cameras. Why not ? So we sticked a used poster on one of the walls to have a background, and did this "interview" again...The man informed me that I "don't look like a typical CdeB fan" and I asked him, how he thinks I should look like then...he couldn't answer...better for him!

Then Chris appeared and we were able to listen to the soundcheck. He did many songs, nearly played them to their end, just like a little "pre-concert" for us. He even played the beginnign of two new songs from the album which will appear next August / September. Great songs, believe me. Very sensefull...but I don't want to break any secrets...

However, we were asked to help the people from the hall to show the guests where to find their seats...we even sticked Gaffer tape on the floor, to prevent people of breaking their necks...the audience really thought we were working there...very funny time.

The show itself was great, as discribed earlier.

After the show we got the chance to sit in the bar with Chris, for about 2 hours, and talked to him about the show, his plans, german wine, the world and many other things.

We really had a great, great time!
