Concert Review: Cologne, Germany - September 28, 2002

Lore Müller:

A great weekend comes to an end.
Angelika from Bavaria left for home ( 5 hours to drive) about 2 hours ago
and everyday-life comes back. It´s hard!

My special weekend began when Angelika arrived on Saturday, early afternoon.
Soon we started to the nearest station to meet Claudia and Willi coming from
Marburg ( 3 to 4 hours by train, I´m not quite sure) and to take them to
their hotel in Lohmar where I live. At home we had some cake and coffee
together with hubby Peter and my children (16,24) and Gabi who arrived a
bit later. We decided not to go by train but by car and the six of us soon
went to Cologne by two cars. Leaving our cars Silvia and her sister Monika
were just arriving and we went to Henkelmännchen where we wanted to meet
the others. The weather was so fine -after some cold days- and from two
loudspeakers they played TIE and tables and benches were standing in front
of Henkelmännchen that we stayed outside and sat down. Soon a lot of
listmembers arrived from all over Germany, from Holland and from England. I
tried to count them and it must have been between 40 and 50. That was fun.
I like that! The most funny boy is Simon "from Holland" as you know. I
could put more faces to names -such as Diane Perry- and talk to those who I
had met in Wuppertal in March for the first time, such as Thomas Marshall,
Doro, Chris and Stewart W., Katja, and and and... I enjoyed the concert very
much. Very soon we could come to the place in front of the stage and I
forgot that we were in the great hall with some thousands of people, it was
only we near the stage and Chris. It was only after the show that I realized
he hadn´t played "Snow is falling" and "If you really love her let her go".
I enjoyed the solopart most and I liked Chris´ appearance in a light grey
shirt and very good mood. In the solopart he played "Borderline" in its
original version which I love so very much and after that song he seemed to
be so touched he could hardly find words to go on. He got very much applause
during the whole concert - especially for the old songs (was my feeling
anyway). I wish all the upcoming concerts were so wonderful than this one.
It was my 10. concert. I´m looking very much forward to Oberhausen,
especially because I hope to meet Morten from Denmark for the first time.
After the concert we went home full of emotions. We took Willi and Claudia
to their hotel, Gabi went home and Angelika and Peter and me, too. Angelika
and I talked till 2 in the morning. Today we went for breakfast to the hotel
to join Willi and Claudia. Then we showed them our house, dog and tortoises
and had dinner outside in the autumn sunshine. In the afternoon we took a
walk in the woods and went to a friend of mine, a bother of missionaries,
and had coffee and cake there, Gabi came, too. Back at home we had a rest
(and a beer for Willi) in our garden and later we took Claudia and Willi to
the station and saw them off. After supper Angelika left - and that´s the
end of a perfect day - better two perfect days.
