Concert Review: Göttingen, Germany - October 12, 2002

Andi:

Hi everybody...
here´s a little review from Chris ´s Super-concert in Göttingen where I have
been yesterday with my hubby and some friends in the very interesting
LOK-HALLE...where in former times the trains have been repaired..so you can
imagine how big this hall really is...if you remember the size of a whole
train...(and me inside..)
And...what a pity...though Chris knew the meaning of LOK-Halle, he didn´t
sing for us Spanish train...that would have fit
perfectly...:-(
=============================
But...well...impossible to mention all the songs he sang with comments
....otherwise I would let the list burst...but..Chris has been a firework of
good vibrations and positive spirit..so you can imagine that we had a PERFECT
DAY .. which was part of the show this time (gorgous!)...slip-sliding into
the Christmas song Silent night...well...looking at the nighttime streets of
Göttingen..they had illuminated the trees already..so..it looked a bit like
Christmas!
But unfortunately..no Santa Claus..no gifts..so far...but Chris was the
greatest gift anyway! Wrapped in a wonderful sinfonie of romantic ballades
(Lady in red...yeah..he did it..this song is like a good old friend..to me)
and powerful rock songs as the POWER of the GUN, Don´t pay the ferryman and
he whispered the word REVOLUTION!!!
============
Our charming host welcomed us with the words: It´s good to be...
well..and I thought it would follow: in Göttingen again...as usual , but NO!
The words exactly were: It´s good to be in Göttingen for the first time!!!!
Hey...did not know that!
======================
And he tried to talk a lot of GERMAN...funny really funny...Göttingen is well
known for the fairytale of the Goose-girl named Liesel..(anyone know the
right translation...my English is out of order sometimes...) and he wanted to
show us, that he knew the "Gänseliesel.." which is the GERMAN title for her ,
so he started talking...about it , pronouncing it absolutely wrong , sounded
like : "Gans-Gisela" and the result was a non-understanding speechless quiet
in the audience....Then he grinned like the little devil in Spanish TRAIN and
murmured....."Mmmh..there was sth wrong with it...wasn´t it ?" And after a
short reflection..he found the right word...unbelievable..every night in
another city...and he remembered in Göttingen the Gänseliesel..even some
inhabitants don´t know by heart if they are asked about!!!!!!

As for me...I have been a bit confused too..because I live about
80 km south of Göttingen .. and in fact my aunt has a neighbour called Gisela
Gans, so ..if we talk about her, we say...this is 'Gans-Gisela' and .. I
first wondered how Chris could know the neighbour of my aunt....:-))))

I can send you a picture of the GÄNSELIESEL in Göttingen, they have a statue
at the top of a fountain... and we gonna have one in our town too....very
'FOTOGEN' this Girl!
Unfortunately..my pics from the concert are only colourful..nothing else but
colours...and Chris is a little white spot in the middle..not to
recognise...we had HIGH -PRIZED - TICKETS but sitting in the middle of
nowwhere...good overview...eye in eye with Chris the most time..but...too far
away...and the FLASH was good for nothing at that distance...so I used the
camera several times with NOFLASH-OPTION...just to get a glimpse of the light
show and colours...you know...goodbye sharpness!
BUT... if anyone wants to have some colours from the concert...I´d love to
send them to you!

So...enough for today....you see..I`m not good in reviews..I´m drifting
apart...beeing carried away from the main topic, beeing lost in side - arms
..never coming to an end!
So..if you want to know more..you are really welcome to email me
privately..to exchange our concert stories and experiences in detail!!!

Maybe..I gonna write some more here in the list...if it´s not too boring for
you...reading stories about Gans-Gisela!
