Concert Review: London, UK - November 12, 2002
Les Partridge:
My wife and I are among the older generation that love CDB. We went to the concert at the Albert hall in London on Tuesday evening and were swept away by one of the very best concerts we have seen chris perform. We were lucky and got front stall seats parallel with the stage. At one point during High on Emotion, Chris came and stood right in front of us to encourage our part of the audience to clap to the rythmn. We know Chris had been quite unwell prior to London, but if he was under the weather, then it did not show. We soon found we could out-dance the youngsters any day, ever though we are in our mid fifties. We did not want the show to end. The only slightly off putting thing was because of the position of the hall's speakers, we got a bit of an echo from the other side of the arena. Whilst congratulating Chris on an excellent performance, I want to add thanks to some guys who don't normally receive any acknowledgment. Who ever was in charge of stage lighting done a first class job with some fantastic lighting effects. The stage hands who made sure all the instruments were up to scratch and the right guitars were in the right place at the right time. All credit to them. Mt best moment? well it must be 'Borderline'. When Chris came to 'These are only boys and I will never know how men can see the wisdom in a war' the tears welled in my eyes and the lump came to the throat. That song wins for me all the time. Well done Chris. We are so proud of you. Les and Carol Partridge. Putney, London. Fans for as long as we can remember.
