Concert Review: London, Ontario, Canada - May 20, 2003
Chris Hebert:
It goes without saying it was a fantastic show. Chris was, as always, witty, charismatic and entertaining. Or, as he put it last night, "It's a stand-up comedy show with a few songs thrown in." The playlist was pretty similar to the other shows in the past week I think... the only difference from the Ottawa playlist that I can see (or remember) are the omissions of High On Emotion in the first encore and Pretty Woman in the second... and he added, by request, a bit of "In Love Forever," I think between "The Tower" and "Lebanese Nights." The unfinished song "Little Angel," about two little girls murdered in England a year ago or so, and dedicated to the family of Holly Jones, a little girl who was brutally murdered last week in Toronto, was a particularly poignant moment. If the raw emotion Chris showed while introducing and performing that song wasn't heartfelt and genuine, then that man deserves to sweep the Oscars. My biggest regret is that I didn't bring my digital camera... heck, everyone else did! That being said, if anyone attended and got any pics, I'd be eternally grateful for a copy of a picture or two.
