Concert Review: Siegen, Germany - July 5, 2003
Astrid Nolde-Gallasch:
It was of course, as always, a great concert!! For me it was especially great, having a night out on my own, while Thomas was at home babysitting Robin. Actually both of them were there with me in the afternoon, so we could listen to the soundcheck together, and Robin (in his very own fan t-shirt) could meet Chris. He did.. you can see the proof at his website. The concert was seated, but as I didn't have a ticket for the concert, I had to stand at the side right from the start. Kathrin (are you still on the list? Haven't read from you in a while..) joined me there, and it was good fun to dance right from the start. :) Soon other people joined us and during "A Spaceman Came Travelling" which was rather early in the setlist, the front was stormed by dancing fans... Surprisingly, Chris played four songs from his next album! He didn't say any of the titles, though one was for sure "Kiss Me From A Distance". He played all of these songs at the piano, and they sounded very nice. As always, Chris managed to captivate the crowd, and by the end of the show, the whole place of 4000 people was up and dancing. I just love these moments, turning around and seeing so many people singing and dancing. The tracklist (according to Lore's sheet and from what I remember... please correct anyone if you remember something else!): Piano: Missing You Here Is Your Paradise -- Guitar: Sailing Away Transmission Ends (WITH the last part "I'm always going to love you..."!!!) Save Me Sailor -- Piano: The Head And The Heart The Best That Love Can Be Natasha Dance -- Guitar: St. Peter's Gate The Same Sun Where Peaceful Waters Flow A Spaceman Came Travelling -- Piano: New songs (4!) Borderline Say Goodbye To It All Lady In Red -- Guitar: Living In The World Lebanese Night Ship To Shore Revolution Trilogy Nothing Ever Happens Round Here Don't Pay The Ferryman -- Encore (guitar): High On Emotion Snows Of New York -- Second Encore (guitar): Hard Day's Night Pretty Woman Hey Jude Astrid :)
