Concert Review: Johannesburg, South Africa - November 14, 2009
Lynette:
I have just come back from the Chris de Burgh Concert at Carnival City , Johannesburg. It was absolutely amazing - and wonderful - it lasted 3 HOURS - it was such an experience - and he just kept on going ! I am sure his voice is even better than it ever was and the audience went wild. I have never been to such a big concert that felt as if it was in an intimate club - Fantastic ! He sang so many songs - these are the ones I remembered- Lady in Red (he came into the audience and danced with some "ladies in red " ! Lonely Sky The Tower Without you (new CD) Turn Turn ( " ") Patricia the Stripper Spanish Train A Space man came travelling Just another poor boy Border line High on Emotion Don't pay the Ferryman Say goodbye to it all Missing you Where peaceful waters flow Ship to shore Long and Winding Road Also a song about vodka ! but I don't know the title ! He played with the band for the first part and after the interval mostly by himself either with guitar or piano. He also came down into the audience and made a lot of people very very happy to see him so close. He also told everyone who wanted to , to come close to the stage and dance - it was like one big party - such a great atmosphere . All in all a fantastic show.
