Concert Review: Liverpool, UK - April 27, 2009

Last night's Concert was a wonderful start to the UK Tour; it had everything, Passion, Vitality, Musicality and Emotion. Songs I hadn't heard 'live' before and one of my favourites from Footsteps - The Last Thing On My Mind.....fantastic! Chris started the Concert solo and then the Band discretely joined him. After over an hour, there was a short break for the Orchestra to assemble on Stage. The finer details of content I will leave to Chris W. During the 'second half', Chris inevitably spoke of Hillsborough and asked the audience to sing with him LFC's Anthem "You'll Never Walk Alone". Well, I never expected to witness what I did. As Chris started singing, the whole audience was upstanding and singing along with him. He was so full of passion and emotion that he just about managed to finish the song before the tears flowed. He was certainly not alone. The standing ovation from both audience, Band and Orchestra is something I will never, ever forget. A very unique moment. Of course, this Concert will stand on its own, however, I am now very much looking forward to Manchester, Newcastle and London.
