Concert Review: Kassel, Germany - September 1, 2010

Hi all, So here is my review of the fantastic CdeB concert in Kassel. As some of you know, I work in Kassel even we live in Marburg that is about 95 km away. So my day started with a full day at work as I am very busy at the moment. I picked Willi up from the train station at around 5.30 and we had a dinner before going to the "Stadthalle" - a really nice place, as Sophia already described. Soon we met some well known faces like Heike L., Julia and her mum (who I did not expact there...), Evelyn, Andrea, Chris W. and, Conny... and it was nice to talk to them and then the concert started! "Last Night" was the first song. Do not ask me for set lists, as I am terrible in remembering this. but it reminded me a lot of the shows last year. Chris seemed to be in a good mood even I thought he must have had a little cold as you sometimes heard it from his singing if you listened carefully. He was really glad it seemed that Kassel was in indoor concert (the only one on this tour...) and he mentioned this. Of cause he got a lot of flowers, wine and other presents... The first part ended with Revolution and than there was the break where I first ran into someone I knew from my former work with the blind organization in Kassel and then finally met Claudia S. who I had been looking for earlier. As usual she was helping Jason with the merchandising stand where before the show we bought the DVD. Andrea told us that she had seen Willi and me on the DVD among the fans must have been on the Kiel concert last year where some parts of it have been filmed. I did not manage to see this by now, but I hope to have some time this week-end. The second part began with Moonlight and Vodka, as usual a funny performance as the guys in the band have been introduced and then they all got a Vodka (or whatever it was...) ))) The solo part was sooooooo nice!!! Chris sang The last thing on my mind, (one of my favorites from footsteps) Perfect day ))))))) and Those where the days. When he first started talking about Christmas is near and having a Gluehwein and these things I thought it would be spaceman and guess how happy I was when he started perfect day!!!! I really love this song and he sings it not so often - so that was perfect!!! Then came Lady in Red and while Chris walking round many rushed to the stage, that by the way was very low, may be 1 meter and a bit... I can not really say. Willi and I went to the front as well. We stood a bit beside the stage and suddenly I saw by the lights that Chris must have been on the way back to the stage just by the isle where we stood. A lady pushed me away to come nearer to Chris to hug him and I let her pass. When she was away I recognized Chris would be passing right beside me, when he suddenly turned to me and gave me a hug I thought "ups... what was that... I can not believe..." Folks I can tell you I was on cloud Nr. 9!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The moment came so fast and was gone so fast as well, but I am still happy, I can tell you!!! Oh yes before this, Chris sang People of the world and explained why he wrote this song. Then, during the dancing part he also sang Everywhere I go, a song I really like! The dancing part was great as usual. The people where all happy and there was no pushing. To soon it was over and during the usual shake hands at the end of footsteps Willi had at least the chance to shake Chris' hand After the show we talked a bit to some of our friends and then Willi got a lift home with Heike while I stayed in Kassel as I had to be at work the next day. In the center where I work we have a bed room that is used for people to stay when we have seminars or meetings and people have to come from far away and need a barrier free accommodation. As member of the staff I can book the room as well when I need to stay in Kassel overnight. So, after we said good by to Willi, Heike and ???, we (Claudia S., Conny, Chris W. and Evelyn went for a drink to there hotel. It was great to sit together for a little while even the music they had in the hotel was horrible!!!! Claudia: How long did they play finally????? Me I was in bed by around quarter to one and after Willi phoned me at around one O'clock to tell me he arrived home safe, I could finally sleep thinking this really was a perfect day! Love Claudia.
