It's Me (And I'm Ready To Go)

It's Me (And I'm Ready To Go) by
Chris de Burgh , reviewed by Dave Doohan In It's Me(And I'm Ready To Go) we have the classic de Burgh
storytelling. Come with me now as we follow a couple to the Cathedral and the man tries to
dispel the doubts of his lover about the future of their relationship. If you have Real
Audio then listen along as well where you see the It's Autumn, the leaves are falling and they are stood in
the Cathedral, with the choir singing in the background. The opening bars of the song
leave you in no doubt this is an epic song building. It's a question that he finds most surprising, but he responds gently, and you can almost picture him take her hand and whisper "It's Me, and I'm ready to go, ready to show, that I'll
never let you down" The scene shifts, now they are out for a stroll together,
and they reach a Café by a river. It is said that Hemmingway wrote his famous poem, A
Farewell To Arms in the corner of this Café all about lovers who, through all the bad
times managed to stay together, and it gets her thinking again, and once more she is
questioning. "who will be the one apart, who will teach me with conviction, all the
ways of the heart". This is just too much for the man, who getting frustrated
says "Listen: Its Me" much louder and an Octave higher. This is the
prelude to a superb guitar solo as the whole song rises to a crescendo of noise as you are
swept along on the emotion of this mans devoted love. A wonderful, many times repeatable
song. |
