German Summer Concerts 2005
December 2004 - Chris de Burgh will come back to Germany to play a solo summer concert tour in July 2005. Tickets go on sale shortly! Please check Tournews for details.
Mini Disk from "Villa Am Fluss"
December 2004 - The wine company "Villa Am Fluss" currently offers their wines together with a mini disk by Chris de Burgh, which includes the following tracks: "The Road To Freedom", "Songbird" and "What You Mean To Me". This offer is available in the following German supermarkets: Marktkauf, Globus, HIT, Kaufland (depending on region), REAL, Rewe and Toom.
Various TV appearances in Germany and UK
November 2004 - Chris de Burgh will appear in Germany on the TV show "50 Jahre Rock - Love Songs" on November 27 and on the José Carreras Gala on December 16, 2004. A 1 hour special preceding the DVD release will be broadcasted on the German channel SAT.1 in the night from the 27th to the 28th of November. And Chris will also appear in a documentary "An Angel called Kirsty" on UK TV BBC 1 on Sunday the 12th of December. Check TV and Radio appearances for details!
The River Sessions - new release!
November 2004 - On November 29 an old live recording will be released on CD: The River Sessions. It has been recently discovered in the River Records tape archive. This excellent Chris De Burgh concert comes from the legendary Glasgow Apollo, originally broadcast by Radio Clyde in November, 1981. As an added bonus there is a second CD with two tracks from a 1979 Radio Clyde session, as well as an interview conducted at the session.
"The Road To Freedom - Live" - The DVD
September 2004 - A DVD from the current The Road To Freedom tour will be released on November 29 initally in Germany, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, Norway and Sweden (UK release and via www.cdeb.net follows). It will initially be available in PAL with region code 0, other formats will follow later when the DVD will get released elsewhere in the world. The release of the DVD will be preceded by a 1 hour special (taken from the DVD) on German television Sat.1 on November 27 at 0:20 pm. On the same day Chris de Burgh will also perform on the ZDF live show '50 years of Rock', hosted by Thomas Gottschalk.
"The Road To Freedom" - Special Edition!
September 2004 - A special edition of the album "The Road To Freedom" will be available in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Benelux countries as well as from the Official Chris de Burgh Merchandising site as of October 11, 2004. It will contain repackaged artwork and 4 new tracks, 3 of which are also available from the singles on www.cdeb.net.
New single release!
September 2004
- Read My Name - The latest single to be released from Chris' current album 'The Road To Freedom' has been re-mixed by Brian Rawling who has worked with Andrea Bocelli, Cher, Lionel Richie and Britney Spears. It also contains the previously unreleased bonustrack "Once Upon A Time". The single is only available from The Official Chris de Burgh Merchandising site. Also available now is the previous single Five Past Dreams which contains the previously unreleased track "Even Now".
The winners of our "Read My Name competition" will receive their single in the mail shortly.
More Additional concerts
September 2004 - In November Chris will play 3 more additional concerts in France and The Netherlands. Please check Tournews for details.
"Innsbruck goes ice" in December
September 2004 - Chris de Burgh will perform at the opening shows for the renovated Olympic ice skating hall in Innsbruck on December 3 and 4. He will perform 5 or 6 songs together with ice skaters, similarly like Art On Ice a couple of years ago. Tickets are available from 0676/84964255 (Austria).
Concert in Norway
August 2004 - Chris de Burgh will perform a solo concert on August 22 at the Momarkedet Festival in Mysen, Norway. This concert will be recorded and shown on NRK 1 TV (Norwegian TV) in early 2005. Check Tournews for details! Also please note that on August 21 Chris de Burgh will perform live on Norwegian TV NRK 1 also from the Momarkedet Festival.
Album release in South Africa
June 2004 - "The Road To Freedom" will be released in South Africa next Friday (June 25).

More special discount tickets for Dortmund!

- As some of you have reported problems with booking the special priced tickets for the Dortmund concert, the promoter is now offering another contingent of category 2 tickets for the price of 19 Euro, reflecting the price tickets were in 1984 when Chris first appeared at the venue. Please note that all prices are subject to a booking fee.
The special priced tickets can be booked online at this link from Friday, June 11 to Tuesday, June 15. Or alternatively book by phone at (+49) (0)231/1204-666 and mention the codeword "1984" (phone booking is not possible at the weekend).
Additional shows in the UK channel islands
June 2004 - Two more additional shows for the UK channel islands (Guernsey and Jersey) have been added to the beginning of the UK tour 2004. They go on sale on June 4 from www.onstageevents.net. Check Tournews for details!
Additional concert at the Westfalenhalle!
May 2004
- To celebrate the success of the sold out European "The Road To Freedom" Tour 2004, Chris has decided to add an additional show on Saturday the 6th of November 2004 at the Westfalenhalle in Dortmund. It is 20 years since Chris first played a headline show at the Westfalenhalle and this is his favourite venue in Germany. The tickets will be split into different categories:
- "Golden Circle" Ticket at 80 Euros: This will involve a special entrance, special parking and meet and greet
- Category 1 will be 40 Euros
- Category 2: When tickets go on sale on Friday the 4th of June, for 2 days only Category 2 tickets will be 19 Euros, reflecting the price tickets were in 1984 when Chris first appeared at the venue. From 6th June they will be available at the regular price of 30 Euros.

Album release in Canada
April 2004 - "The Road To Freedom" will be released in Canada next Monday (May 3). It features a specially recorded French version of the song Five Past Dreams entitled 'Comme un Reve'. This is the 1st release of this song anywhere in the world.

February 2004 - Chris de Burgh will be featured on UK television this Sunday (15th February) in a series called "Faith And Music" (channel ITV, broadcast 11:40 pm). It is a 45 minute documentary on Chris, his music, inspiration and spiritual beliefs.

January 2004 - On January 24, Chris de Burgh will appear with Rosanna - the new Miss World - for an interview with host Thomas Gottschalk at the TV show "Wetten Dass" (ZDF, Germany). Chris will also sing a short version of a new song from the forthcoming album "The Road To Freedom", but this will not be the first single. He will lead with a different track called "The Words 'I Love You'".
