Jasper Carrotts Christmas Rock With Laughter

The show that Birmingham’s own Jasper Carrott refers to as “a humdinger of a party” is back at The NEC Arena this Christmas. Some 40,000 people celebrated the start of Christmas with Jasper and friends in 2006 and enjoyed the most fantastic night out, watching act after act bring the house down. “Rock With Laughter is unique to Birmingham, if not the UK,” says Jasper. “It combines some of the world’s best comedy acts with multi award winning musical talent to create a rip-roaring party night the whole family can enjoy!” This year’s acts include Chris de Burgh and his band, Dame Edna Everage, Jamelia and her band, Jo Brand, The Manfreds (featuring Paul Jones and Mike d’Abo) and Shakin’ Stevens. And if past years are anything to go by, Jasper will probably have a few surprises up his sleeve on the night! Additional show on Dec 16 has just been added! Tickets for the additional show go on sale on May 5.

Chris de Burgh will perform at the opening shows for the renovated Olympic ice skating hall in Innsbruck on December 3 and 4. He will perform 5 or 6 songs together with ice skaters, similarly like Art On Ice a couple of years ago.

The Road To Freedom - Additional Concert

To celebrate the success of the sold out European "The Road To Freedom" Tour 2004, Chris has decided to add an additional show on Saturday the 6th of November 2004 at the Westfalenhalle in Dortmund. It is 20 years since Chris first played a headline show at the Westfalenhalle and this is his favourite venue in Germany. The tickets will be split into different categories:

• "Golden Circle" Ticket at 80 Euros: This will involve a special entrance, special parking and meet and greet
• Category 1 will be 40 Euros
• Category 2: Another contingent of category 2 tickets for the price of 19 Euro, reflecting the price tickets were in 1984 when Chris first appeared at the venue, is available from June 11 to June 15. The special priced tickets can be booked online at this link from Friday, June 11 to Tuesday, June 15. Or alternatively book by phone at (+49) (0)231/1204-666 and mention the codeword "1984" (phone booking is not possible at the weekend). After June 15, category 2 tickets will be 30 Euro again.

Due to the horrific storms in Holland on October 27, 2002 many of Chris de Burgh fans who had bought tickets for the show in Rotterdam were unable to attend. As Chris de Burgh has always considered his fans to be the most important part of his career he has agreed to perform a special intimate solo performance for the ticket holders who were unable to make the concert. Existing ticket holders should send their tickets for the Rotterdam show, together with their name, address and contact/telephone details to Mojo Concerts, Postbus 3121, 2601 DC DELFT. Please write on the top left hand corner of the envelope "CHRIS DE BURGH". These tickets must be received by November 15th 2002 and your new tickets for the Valentine's Day Show will be sent as soon as possible after receipt but please bear in mind, Christmas mail may have effect how long this takes.

The media-prize "Goldene Henne" (golden hen) will be awarded this year on 19th September in the Friedrichstadtpalast in Berlin. This will be the seventh time this prize is given away by the magazines Super Illu, Super TV, the TV station MDR and the Revuetheatre Berlin. 45 people (actors, sport stars, entertainers and TV presenters) are nominated. Chris de Burgh is invited as the star guest of this gala.

Chris de Burgh holds a special connection with the city of Volendam (The Netherlands), as it is supposedly the place in Europe where his music was "discovered" in 1975. The concert will be held in an intimate atmosphere of St. Vincentius church. All money will go straight to the charity for the victims of the terrible fire disaster of Volendam fom New Year's Eve.
