My Lady in Red has made me so Proud

Daughter of singer Chris de Burgh takes centre stage as she wins
beauty contest

No one can be in any doubt about the way diminutive singer Chris de
Burgh feels about his very own lady in red.

She is his daugher Roseanna Davidson who has just been crowned Miss
Ireland 2003.

She beat stiff competition for the the title but, in the end, Irish
eyes smiled on her with her lustrous blonde hair and porcelain skin.

Roseanna, who is in her second year at University College Dublin
studying sociology and history of art, will now be celebrating with
her father, mum Diane and her siblings Hubie and Michael at their
stunning 12th century home Bargy Castle in co Wexford, Ireland.

However despite her undouted beauty, the 19year old who admires the
looks of Cameron Diaz and was odds on at 8/13 to win the title,
admitted she does have her imperfections. Roseanna, who had been
voted Miss Dun Laoghaire explained "for years, I have foolishly been
squeezing my feet into shoes that have been too small and the result
is that I now have toes that are not the prettist.

She also believes her best feature are her hands but the judges were
not looking at her hands or her feet when the chose her to be a
representive for Ireland in the ceremony at the City West Hotel,
Dublin on Friday.

The 5ft 9in stunner will take on where her predecessor Lynda Duffy
left off, but she has said that she will resist the traditional lure
of the catwalk when her time as Miss Ireland is over and will not be
going into modelling full-time. Instead, she is setting her sights on
the cut and thrust of a career in advertising.

She will also have her famous father, who was a firm favourite id the
late Diana, Princess of Wales and of politicians Helmut Kohl and
Boris Yeltsin, at her side every step of the way to cope with the
fame and attention her win will now bring her.

According the young Roseanna, her 54 year old dad- whi in 1986 had a
No 1 hit with Lady in Red in the UK, as well at 24 other countries-
has been dispensing several words of wisdom "he helped me to overcome
stage fright" she said.

De Burgh, who worth abd estimated 29 million, has played around
3,000 gigs in his 28 year career. He is still muchin demand and
continues to perform all over the world.

There are 2 photos of Roseanna with a proud looking Chris and who can
blame him, I think she is very beautiful young lady and she has a
look of Diane about her (you should have heard the comment my hubby
made i showed the photo). And yes she was wearing a red dress!
