Puritanic(?) Irishman by Oliver Lockowandt translation by Tina Märkert Chris de Burgh impresses also without band At least every 2 years Chris de Burgh launches a new album and reached after all 45 millions sold albums worldwide. With his new work "TRTF" the Irishman fulfills himself a long cherished desire: this time he only composed and recorded songs which he can present at concerts without band, just alone with guitar or piano. The quality of his new songs benefits from this new won independence - with spiritual striking, spanish, celtic, and north american melodies. Beside the new songs of course he will play the greatest hits from 17 albums i.e. "LIR", "DPTF" or "Liberty" (personal note: either the journalist is a true fan or how else would he know of "Liberty"??) These songs from the charismatic world star de Burgh to hear performed solo in the extraordinay atmosphere of the Philharmonie certainly is a very special concert experience. |
