Chris de Burgh on "Timing Is Everything" Tour

On time for the release of his new album the world star comes into the 
country

Cologne - Only few artists can look back on a success that continues since 
decades. But Chris de Burgh is one of them - since his first album. The 
foundations for his remarkable career have been laid in 1975 with his first 
album "Far Beyond These Castle Walls". The single "Flying" from this album 
was alone in Brazil number one of the charts for 17 weeks.

With his following albums he continually won fans from all over the world. 
In Scandinavia they were quickly enthusiastical about his unique talent, 
while the South Africans had to be convinced by a powerful live performance. 
For America he even had to put together a special Best-of-collections: "Best 
Moves". In the United States his reputation as a charismatical live artist 
manifested by continual touring, especially with the band Supertramp. Until 
1980 his worldwide success had been established so much that his album 
"Eastern Winds" became one of the most sold albums of all times in Norway. 
A year later "Man On The Line" followed and stepped into the top 30 of the 
charts in England, America and 20 other countries. The single "High On 
Emotion" even became number one in ten European countries.

In many aspects this album opened the door to his incredible success that 
should follow. New records were broken in 1986 with the album "Into The 
Light". This album hasn't just given him full acknowledgement as an artist, 
Chris de Burgh now was established worldwide as an artist and songwriter. 
"The Lady In Red" - now a classic - became number one in 25 countries, 
including Great Britain, became number two in America and has been sold to 
date more than 8 million times. Until today it's one of the most played 
songs of our planet, in America alone Chris has received six times the 
yearly ASCAP (Association of Composers and Publishers Award), that goes to 
the most played songs in the American top 20.

Until today Chris de Burgh has reached the status of a real super star in 
many countries, especially in Germany, where the dimensions of his sold out 
tours remain unreached by any other musician. In November and December of 
last year Chris de Burgh appeared during the "Night Of The Proms" concert 
tour. This has been an extremely popular and successful series of events 
which is always accepted enthusiastically as famous artists from the 
classical, opera and modern rock and pop music appear together. "During all 
these preparations, I still think that I want to make new songs again. I 
want to entertain myself and my audience again."

This thought will be realized soon. The new album will be in the shops in 
the mid of September and Chris de Burgh will be on tour in Germany on time. 
On 28 September the world star comes to Cologne. There he is expected on 
stage at 20h in the KölnArena to present his fans along the Rhine the new 
studio album live!
