When was the last time you laughed? This morning, when my dog Milly took a swim in the local river. When she got out she did one of those crazy dog-running-about-madly runs. Hilarious! What are you most proud of? Even though I've travelled extensively, I've had along with my wife, the immense joy of bringing up my three lovely, happy and well balanced children, now aged 24, 20 and 18. What's your biggest regret? I have no regrets. I like the person I am and I'm made up of everything that has happened to me so far. What would you take to a desert island? A piano that never went out of tune, a large container full of chilled white wine from Burgundy (along with some tasty nibbles) and two pairs of swimming goggles - in case one pair breaks! I love swimming and I would spend most of my days under water, looking at the tropical fish. What would you eat for your last meal? I'd place an order with Peter's Chung King in Toronto and ask him to send me a selection of his finest dishes. As this is a place I have visited many times (and on two occasions even brought back a takeaway to my home in Dublin), he'd know my preferences. When did you last cry? I'm a bit of a softy and if I see or read anything about children in difficulties or distress I get all choked up. Who would you like to play you in the film of your life? Sean Connery. Mainly because I was convinced I was James Bond in the early Bond films and I feel that he and I have a passing resemblance....except for the height differential, the different accents and he is amazingly good looking! Who is your hero? My ancestor, Hubert de Burgh, who was not only Chief Justiciar and the Earl of Kent, but one of the most influential men in England during the reign of King John and King Henry III in the 13th Century. He was ordered by King John to blind John's nephew, Arthur of Brittany, at Dover Castle but de Burgh refused. Shakespeare used this account in his play. What are you up to at the moment? Promoting the UK release of my album, Footsteps, by doing lots of exciting interviews like this!
